I’m reminded of the third book in the Enchanted Forest Chronicles. The main character of that one is a witch that is very “non-traditional.” She’s short, rather pretty, and instead of one black cat she has a dozen cats of every color except black. There’s a character that insists on everyone and everything conform to what he says is traditional.

In the end, he gets turned into a donkey. Which is very fitting for him.
