Don't forget that the Collector can also hear the call of the sword. And I'm sure he already turned half the forest topsy-turvy in search of it.

Depending on how fast Red Rock Trolls regenerate or heal the fight with that little troop of goblins may have slowed him down.
On the other hand the Collector is made of Badass so who knows…

maybe bean gained the ability to call the sword to him
you know like he can summon the sword and it will fly into his hand no matter how far away he is. so he can never truly lose it.

At least is not visible to be picked up by anybody. Beans will have the advantage to hear the call of the sword. To retrieve it will be like a quest…

Beans having that sword should make him difficult to socialize. I see a similarity with Frodo being interrogated by Faramir and by chance being allowed to continue his journey with the ring. And a sword is harder to hide.
I can't say enough good things about the atmospherics of your art. It's so immersive!
