Living in your Imagination 13: Sailing the Stars

Sailing the Stars 17×22

Winken, Blinken and Nod sailed off in a wooden shoe to catch stars. I love this poem, more as an adult than as a kid. There is something very magical about it. I wanted to share my version of it, how I would sail off to catch stars.

Also I am curious should I keep posting these? Do you look at them and enjoy them?  I never hear anything about them so I do not know if I should continue.

Anyways- keep creating

This is lovely! It reminds me a little of the art of Robert Lyn Nelson, whose work I collected and admired as a child…

Please keep drawing these, they are brilliant and fire my imagination! You should have a story-writing contest were we each have to write a unique story based off of one of these pictures. I love writing, and I see how much you enjoy writing from the Bean.

Yes, yes, yes, please continue these. Have been following the comic for a while and love your work. Also love the extra posts you add – love your artwork in general. My husband and I just had our first child and we are thrilled to decorate her room with your wonderful artwork. Thank you for the brightness you bring to our lives.

Oh yes please. I'm really enjoying them. Sorry for being such a lurker. This is one of my favourites in this series.

lurkers are welcome – just come on out of the shadows every now and then

But the shadows are cold and comfortable, the Yellow face can't burn you there.

Yes! Keep posting them! I guess we should have been giving you some feedback. Didn't think of it. I just love these. This one is beautiful but my favorite so far has been the fishing scene with the mermaid. Loved that one.

The series in general is excellent. This one is the best one by a significant margin. I had to go play "Come Sail Away" after seeing it.

I am glad – I have more to add anthony and as for having to play "come sail away" that's nice…very nice

I enjoy them, but it is a testament to the power of The Bean, that I'm always a teensy (teensy) bit disappointed that it is not a Bean update.

I like the floating rocks and whales that appear in many of them, but also just the creativity and source ideas, in addition to your awesome art skills.

Currently screwing my budget to see how much I can put in to your Kickstarter before it finishes, and was pleased to see how quick it funded.

i know, but until i can make some changes to draw bean daily i have to do other work to keep food on the table:) hopefully soon we can make some changes to make bean a daily- now wouldnt that be cool.

As for kickstarter you have 10 days left- i too was pleased at the outcome and thank you for supporting me in all my updates.

Really nice job Travis! How long did this one take? Does it take long to come up with a concept?

    Trav the bean » 20 Aug 2012 » Reply

this one took about a day. The concept though comes almost instantly – from just sketching. I might post some of my sketches one day.
