It isn't in a predator's best interests to announce its approach to its prey. That is the sort of thing that results in starving predators and long-since-escaped prey.

The whole bellow-and-charge approach is usually utilised by animals defending their territory against perceived competition. Which is to say they're not trying to eat them, but rather drive them off… which is exactly the sort of purpose being loud and menacing serves quite well.

Heck, despite the somewhat pointy teeth, it might not even be carnivorous.

Did you find it? The creature's physique strongly resembles it – only bigger and more dangerous. However, your exo-teeth make it special and … creepy.

Dinner time for the beastie, or will the sword have something to say about it?

I like the dinner time option, yet that might make for too quick of a tale:)
