For some reason, his hat lying on the floor in the first panel sums up best how helpless and useless he must feel right now. Beautiful emotion on this page, and I really like how peaceful and calm she is “just healing” after receiving so many wounds that would surely be mortal for a human.

I am so touched by the love between them. Even though she is an immortal(?) manifestation, it is clear that she loves him, and that he loves her.
There is not just the forest, of course. I would not want any of the pixies mad at me. I suspect they have defenses that can be used as well, when needed.

Yep. That is a man whose sleep is haunted with visions of towering stacks of unsigned books and a pen that slowly scrawls out his name. While the stacks rise and close in around him, as his weary writing hand struggles to move an ever heavier pen. Until, at last, he cannot go on and the books come for him — suddenly waking him with a start in a cold sweat.
Or so I imagine.
