Commissions updates and more fun

Well as you can tell I have been rather busy these last few months, so much that blogging has been on the back burner, which is a shame or maybe a mixed blessing, I will let you decide.

So what has been going on? Well besides the incredible kickstarter project, which we will talk about in another post and book/chapter 9 of the bean, which starts updating in oct. I have had several commissions, each which have been pretty good size. These take up a lot of time, but I rather enjoy them because they allow me to play.

The first piece I am going to show, is my Emerald City Comic Con 2012 piece. It is my entry for their monsters & dames charity book. I took a different approach than my last years piece. I really like how it came out and it’s direction. Here are the inks, just click the piece for a much larger view of the artwork.

My next piece is a special one. When I am approached to do a piece, one of the main things that are universal, is giving me the freedom to run with the initial design.  The next 2 that I am going to share with you are based on just that.

The first one is based off of a character created by Heidi Berthiaume. His name is Bud the Bunny. She asked that bud hang out with one of my bears in my world. I have no problem with that. So I put bud on a jet plane and sent him on a grand adventure. You can find out all about here at http://www.budthebunny.net/bud/,

It is with these pieces that I have had to also hire a flatner and the very talented Darne Lang has been helping me with that. Flats are the basic colors, in this case the entire piece is done in grays. This allows me to draw more. It also takes a big chunk out of my coloring time and speeds up the whole process

Then there are those pieces that just melt the heart. This next one was a baby announcement. It is a 9×12. The couple wanted themselves and their new “treasure” represented as my pirate bears. They seem to be popular right now. The anchor was a special request, the chest was my own doing.

I really love to see what people come up with and invite me to do. Plus commissions is what helps keep the bean going and many of the other projects I am involved in. So if you interested in one, I’ll make the time. My next two that I am involved in are huge and I am really getting excited to showcase those. I just have to get them colored and approved before I can post them.

So now it is late and I need to get back to work. If you are interested in a commission just click right here  and it will take you to where the fun is.

Thanks again for all the support- keep creating and always live in your imagination.
