Emerald City Comic Con Wrap Up…….

It is literally the day after ECCC. I am tired, worn out, a tad hoarse and really, really inspired. I haven’t been this inspired in awhile and I must say, hats off to the crew that put this incredible show together. It was fantastic.

Besides the fact we sold out of books literally by 4pm on day 2 (note to self, ship more books next time.) The people up in seattle were kind, friendly and enthusiastic. I was blown away by how excited they were to have us up there and how much they support the art scene.  When we were offered the chance to sign up for next year, we jumped all over it.

This show has a very Phoenix Comic Con vibe. I would rank these two shows together in my opinion, in terms of fun and success. So what were the highlights?

1st was the con horror stories panel with Brandon Jerwa, Eric Trautmann, Jim Zubkavich, and myself. I had a lot of fun chatting stories of cons with three very talented individuals. Our general fear with a panel like this is that it can go south, but we kept it upbeat and talked more about our own mistakes and ultimate fan moments.

2nd I had my own private panel (about 200+) dealing with “bringing one’s fantasy world to reality”. I talked about pitfalls, prep and trials from an independents point of few. It was an extremely positive experience and I must say how touched I was for all the comments that came back to us during the rest of the show.

Sketch wise we hit about 600. Average, yet I did not push it too much. The crew rocked as usual, and honestly the only way to make a show work is to have the right help. If it hadn’t been for Rich, Jim and Kandace, I would have been sunk. They kept me ahead of the game.

Seattle is beautiful, and thank you laura & dan for letting us kick it at your house.:) It was wonderful to see everyone…. oh and those pizza rolls were….. awesome.

Also it was wonderful to see Little Vampires, Steam crow, todd nauck, Jason Palmer, Sergio, Rantz, and Spike, and meet so many new talented people. It makes the show so well worth it

I must say it was a fantastic experience. I do apologize that we did not have more books for those that wanted them yet more is on the way. It is though shows like this that keep me inspired and focused. I am really excited for what the future will bring for bean and I look forward to returning next year. It was very encouraging.

So until next time which will be in a few minutes… I will say this. Keep Creating and remember show me how bad you want to succeed …..

Oh you met Brandon! What a small world the comic scene is. I met him at a comic festival in Algeria and was just listening to an interview of him this morning 🙂

I think everyone I know was at ECCC. I'm glad to hear it was a great show, and especially to hear the comparison to Phoenix Comicon, which was a blast. Now I have a year to convince the hubby that we MUST go to ECCC next year. 😀
