Maybe he’s thinking of the wrong apocalypse.
This campaign could be built around a mass genocide by high-level fireballs from an intelligent machine built by mad gnomes, called “Reticulation of the Sky.”
They will soon run into steam powered skeletal “Death Initiators.”
