This weekend I had a great learning experience. I learned how to prepare and can jam and applesauce. I had a blast and I look forward to playing a little more with this almost lost home art. Why am I even bringing this up?

Well, because it really helps me think old world. It is giving me experiences to apply to my comic. I am looking at other old world techniques as well and I am looking maybe hand sewing an outfit together and maybe even trying to make a few juices. I love that little bit of authenticity that can go into a page or a place. You might never see it, but there are many things in the comic that I have experienced and there will be many more.

It truly is the little things for me that make this whole things work.

Have ou ever tried making applebutter? Its a family tradition were you start with applesauce and add sugar, cinnamon, cloves, red hot candies and oil of cinnamon. A great substitute for jams. it takes a while. especially the way we make it. Old fashioned in a copper cauldron over an open fire. we usually start with 25 to 30 gallons of applesauce.

Jam is a lost art? Just ask a College student. We regularly make Jam as its cheaper and tastes better. College students tend to do everything on the cheap.

Count your kidneys if you ever wake up in what looks like a tub.

I took up Archery to bring a little authenticity into my RobinHood: Steampunk book! Hooray for artists that live their art! Keep it up man!

I shoot as well- I have a bear compound bow. It drives me nuts when artist illustrate that incorrectly. I even put a few of my own traits in how my characters hold the bow. Really important to me I am glad to see I am not the only one. So do you still shoot????
