Welcome back my fellow residents of the forest of darkleaf. Glad to see you around- I hope you notice that I am adding a daily sketch as well. These sketches are all over the map. Some will be from bean- others will be just sketches of ideas and practicing. I will update one – every single day. It’s on my main home page on the site here.

Well back to the work – we have stories to finish as well as books to create.

Who is your favorite character in the story so far and why?

I think my favorite might have to be Groggle. He's so funny, and seems to genuinely care about Bean. Second favorite character is tied between the Collector, Theron, Mama, Thaddeus, Brutus, Otter… okay, ALL of the other characters are tied for second favorite character.

For all these comments, I'm surprised no one has asked about the bottom panel where Ravna is holding the sword out at arms length. Is she reading the script that is inscribed on the hilt? I think either those words or the memory of words that Siv spoke to her are what set her to crying again. The zoomed out last panel really emphasizes how "small" she must feel, especially when grieving.

And, oh my – I just realized that I've finally caught up to the current page! I've thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful art and story that's come before, and I look forward to following Bean for many, many days ahead. Thank you.

My favourite is Roc Noc – I love his simple wisdom balanced with compassion. I also love the thought of someone (who knows how old he must be?!) maintaining the underground for the earthdwellers, waiting for a time that may or may not come when they would return.

I also enjoy Fencer Per, I think for many of the same reasons that others like Siv. He seems a strong character with a powerful backstory, and his passion for his family is lovely.

My favourite character is Groggle. His irreverence is quite funny. I really think that this is a wonderful page. Very moving and sad.

I like the Dragon hunter turned dragon. I'm not sure why but I like the way you draw him and the silent sadness knowing he must choose to stay a dragon or kill what arguably seems to be his only friend.
