In con prep today and tomorrow for the very cool one day show at the long beach comic con this sat. So if you are in the area come on down to the show and hang out with us. CLICK TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THE LONG BEACH COMIC CON. I will be sitting next to the very talented and friendly Mike Kunkel.

Production on both the Bean and the Artbook is going strong. I have a press date for the ART Book… I am looking at having it all done and ready for press June 18. Bean book 4 is now moving along smoothly as well. I have completely moved the bean to digital which has really been an incredible experience. A lot smoother as well.

Today is ask the Artist day about the bean or almost anything else.

Yup I am feeling chatty- and will tackle the questions the next couple of evenings.

I hope you are enjoying the Daily sketches. I have been enjoying creating these and looking forward to adventuring all over the place.

Thanks again

keep creating

So why are the lizards totally chill here, but the bug and the fish look freaked out? I'm guessing the large eyes are just because they are deep underground and trying to adjust. Still amuses me.

just different places of the underground- snapshots more like it.

Hi, could you perhaps at some stage share more about your creative process at the 'Shop talk/videos' link? Perhaps a short tutorial on how you use the digital programs to create your sketches and what pen you use? It would be awesome to know. You properly get tired of hearing/reading this, but you really do have a great comic book story and each update is worthwhile. Have fun in your imagination 🙂

Trav, just finished catching up. What a great tale you have going on here. Now, I too am on pins awaiting your next submission. I really dig the critters that you create. Nice touch.

I have just recently discovered your comic, and have been busy going through all 483 from the start. From the beautifully created artwork, to the intricately woven and multi-pronged storyline, this comic is amazing. The word you created is simply remarkable and very alive. I'm so happy I found this and am eager for every update. Thank you sincerely for doing this.

With your move to a wholly digital process, how will this affect commissions? No more inked vellum line art?

    Trav the bean » 9 May 2013 » Reply

it wont- i will still ink on vellum for those that request it.

What is your favourite part of the creative process? Is it different, too, between Bean and your art prints? Thanks!

    Trav the bean » 9 May 2013 » Reply

the concept and beginning of the idea. There is a difference between bean and the prints in the creative process as well- bean has to follow a guideline and direct path- so there are certain rules i have put in place- while the art prints are a free for all and i can totally do anything with the prints. So i dont always feel locked into one thing.

Are we ever going to see Bean's (only remaining) uncle again? If so, any hints as to when? He was my favorite out of the starting cast.

That remains to be seen- but i sure hope so…..and you never know it might be in the 4th book

Have your say!
