new update today.

I have a lot of preparing today and I am working hard on 9 and 8- edits are almost done on 8 which means it goes to print hopefully late next week.

I am also working on a graphic novel aspect of the bean. It is about time we start putting the comics into some big books. So I am going to start combing them. Books 1 through 4 are going to be book 1. It will be in b/w though, no color yet. Remember the main goal is to finish our tale. Which has a ways to go:) Once it is done i will color the whole thing…promise.

The main problem is costs, i just cant fund color right now, nor do i have the time to jump in. Yet I can almost fund a b/w one. Maybe we will do presales and I will give incentives and such.

Well back to issue 9 and prepping for a con next week

Curiosity Question:

Are you an update reader or do you wait for a few weeks and read a group at a time.

I just started reading you comic and I love it.
As for your question I have hundreds of comics that i read so I'm not able to read only on the updates it usually takes me a week or 2 to get through all of them.
I know you have been wondering about the color vs b&w. IMHO if the story and art are good color is not needed. With the hints here and there for color I would love to see these pages in color. I would reread the whole story

Totally understand that- i have the same problem with comments- try to get them all but occasionally i miss a few.

One day i will do this in color- but you are right – if the story and art is good color is not needed:)

"Graphic novel" I interpreted as the type with mostly writing and fewer images.
I had the wrong idea.
It is most assured your graphic novel will be of the highest quality if its the buffed-up web version !

actually they have a long walk ahead of them- give em a few miles and they will be back to their usual nasty little selves

I read as each update comes out and then at the end of the month I drop back and batch read it all at once. It's the best of both worlds!

Update reader…I'll "batch read" when the big book comes out. 🙂

    that is understandable

I'm with Billy here. I read the updates on my RSS feed, but when the big book comes out, you better bet your bippy I'll be buying it and rereading it. Honestly, I know the story will flow a little better for me when I read it a book at a time, but your work is just THAT good, I can't help wanting to read every update the moment it comes out!

    (Consider your ego boosted. 😉

Heh, I'm a book reader! I basically just wait for you to say you've got a new book ready and order it. I guess I just can't wait to see what's gonna happen next. 😉

update reader. the only thing that keeps me sane is that i read a lot of webcomics. only a handful update regularly.

I read by feed. Can't wait for the next update. It's a golden speck of light during a busy day at work, best enjoyed with a warm cup of coffee and a closed door.

I try to read as the new comics are posted, but sometimes I am forced to read small batches (2-4) in order to catch up.

So, who's the gentleman with the unusually large nose? Prisoner, collaborator? Salesman for a travelling cloak company?

now two figure out who he (the guy with the large nose) you will have to go back a bit and re-read. I do though like the salesman for a traveling cloak company

Update reader, not patient enough to wait for multiples….

Glennnn » 17 Jun 2011 » Reply

The graphic novel sounds like a good idea, but only if you can write with the same caliber as you draw.
At any rate the crowd up there in the 1-panel is a bunch of butt-uglies !
You're really setting this confrontation up…. ! !

    Trav the bean » 17 Jun 2011 » Reply

actually glen- it is a compilation of the first 152 pages plus some extras…:) of the comic. I might add a page or two here and there but it is the webcomic. In fact there are already single issues of this webcomic already out.

    yeah the confrontation is growing
