I really like the expressions on the spirit's face–we think of these things as being expressed by "the eyes", but you can see here that it's the muscles/skin surrounding the eyes that make the expression (since, you know, there aren't any eyes, I mean).
Also, it's nice to have this insight into the history/motivation of Thad's cynicism.
