Time for a big reveal and a big reveal it is…. Grenels are not what they seem to be.
Well back to SDCC Prep and on a side note, the art book starts the printing press. Really excited about it.

Dayum! Grenels are elves who gave up their "humanity" (or rather elvity XD) to get strength and power and turned into this hideous monsters? Oh boy~
Are there male/female Grenels and can they mate and thus became an own race after their betrayal or is that a one-ticket thingie that costs you everything to get the power you want?

Love the way the sword tip & tree splinters are coming out of the panel.

Kinda sad. If the grenels gave up their elvishness for power, Ganadon is no different.
Now he's here to put them back on the right path when he couldn't even do it for himself?
This could only end in an ocean of tears and blood.

it is sad – and there will be many tears in the months to come.

Typo: vengence -> vengeance

Grenels are kind of like orcs then? Monsters made out of elves? Though it appears to have been an individual choice rather than a breeding program, or Ganadon couldn’t very well accuse this one of having given anything up.

no breeding programs- 🙂 it is as it sounds. a choice.

Well, it explains why they wear clothes. Also, the mystery deepens, and does not get any clearer…

Wonder if Grenels is short for Green Elves, who gave up their elvishness for more powerful forms?
A betrayal of the others elves, they think.

there's only elves- and there are elves in the world of the broken moon that crave power.

I can't tell anymore if the sword takes full control over Bean, or if part of his grit is just Bean being awesome. This is the most controlled his expressions and dialogue have sounded while he has used the sword. Then again, that could just be Ganadon being cold-hearted and ruthless. Does Bean remember all of the stuff he is saying here? I doubt he understands what Ganadon is talking about. I hope we get to learn more about the truth of what grenels are soon.

i think sword brings out the grit.
as for if he remembers- yes bean remembers to a degree. as for more on the Gre-nels there is much truth to what bean says in this update.

I can't say enough good things about the atmospherics of your art. It's so immersive!

the young Hero find “the sword” and must proof himself against a huge Monster. Hmm.. with the last Page i hear the “Bossfight Theme” from Secret of Mana.
