Welcome to the people of the Broken Moon. I expect this page to get pretty long but I feel that it is important to put everyone in the same place. I have named a lot of people in the world of the Broken Moon, including several who’s names have never been mentioned before of people seen. There are some spoiler tidbits if you are new comer as well as some nice surprises.

Dark Leaf Forest:the Silver Dagger

Bean

History: Bean is the dishwasher at the Silver Dagger. He is about 13 years old at the time of our story and has lived at the Silver Dagger most of his life. He was trained by Siv, on orders by Gort, to be a thief, which he hates. * Race: Half-Elf * Weapon: The Sword of Ganadon *

Gort

History: A cranky old ogre that runs and owns the Silver Dagger. He is one of the last of his kind with his race being all but wiped out in the great wars. How he came to own the Dagger noone knows, most believe it was in a gambling game. Gort has a fierce temper and is an opportunist. He is also the Guardian of the Bean and brother to Groggle. Gort hates the barkeep Siv, but tolerates him for now due to an unknown debt that he owes the forest walker. * Race: Ogre * Weapon: What ever he can get his hands on *

Groggle

History: The cook of the Silver Dagger. Groggle and his brother Gort, survived the great war that destroyed the Ogre and Red Rock Troll races. He is a skilled cook and is well versed in herb-lore and brewing. Groggle watches over Ravna and the Bean, and could be the closest thing to a father that the Bean has. Ravna

History: The mistress of the Inn. Ravna is a young woman that basically oversees the needs of the Silver Dagger. She is strong-willed and a capable warrior having been taught the art of the sword by Siv. Siv

History: Siv is the barkeep of the Silver Dagger. He is a Forest Walker, and it has been claimed that he was once a prince of the White Hall. He is an incredible warrior and fights with the skill of a Helixshire elf. He is also a amazing tracker and has found the Bean on several occasions, when the lad ran away from the Silver Dagger. He tolerates Gort and once saved his life. He stays at the Dagger to keep an eye on Bean and because he loves the Mistress of the Inn, Ravna. * Race: Human * Weapon: the Blade of the Rose *

Fencer Per

History: Oldest son of Crimson and Nadella Per. Fencer left home in his late teens to serve a Velumni Household in the South. While serving as caption of a Velumni family he foiled a plot against the house and was wounded in the process. His Velumni Lord in gratitude sent him back home to his family to help him recover and keep him safe from any revenge that would be sought against the young Per. Fencer is an incredible swordsman and still very loyal to his Velumni Family and the souther way of life. Gwen (Mama Fairy)

History: Mama Fairy is the queen of the Fairies. She is referred to as mother. She is bound to a small location hidden within the swamps of Dark Leaf. She is a healer, farmer, and wife to the Human Theron. She has incredible power within her realm and is able to control the very plants around her. Theron

History: Theron is the husband to Gwen (Mama Fairy). It is alluded to that he was once a knight in his younger days, but that is yet to be proven. He is very devoted to his wife and children (the fairies) which live in Mama Fairy's lands. His favorite is a spunky fairy named Tia Pho Phia, who travels with him outside of the protected realm. the Collector

History: A mad Red Rock Troll hunting the Blade of Ganadon, which seems to call to him as a song. He kidnaps the Bean because the blade told him that only the boy good retrieve the blade. He speaks mainly in rhymes and laments about the past and old betrayals. Ganadon

History: An elven king of Dark Leaf. He fled with his people when the goblins first attacked Dark Leaf. Making his way to the White Hall he had a sword forged and in his anger weaved a piece of him into the blade that it might strengthen his people and enact revenge on the goblins. Rallying his forces Ganadon pushed the Goblins out of Dark Leaf. Yet, the weave had taken a toll on the young elf king. He decided that all of Dark Leaf was to be his and commanded his armies to attack the humans at the White Hall. His troops rebelled and he was eventually murdered by a close friend, who could not bear to see Ganadon sink deeper into madness. the Badger

History: The Badger is commander of the Goblin armies charged with the sacking of southern parts of Dark Leaf. He is also in charge of hunting down the tomb of Ganadon and to secure the sword for his master the Beast King. Grenel

History: The Grenels are mysterious creatures. They thrive on murder and destruction and utilize the weave to speak. They wear shred of rags and clothing and are in the service of the Beast King. Skilled in tracking, the Grenels have been tasked in finding the Sword of Ganadon. Very few have ever killed a Grenel due to their tough skin and aggressive nature. Their origins are unknown. Thaddeus Home

Thaddeus

History: Thaddeus is the Watcher of the Broken Moon. In a castle lost deep in the mountain ranges of the Broken Moon, he keeps watch over events and people that interest him. His closest friend is a large dragon named Brutus. He is skilled in lore, the weave and art. He is familiar with Mama Fairy and the Otter. Due to peoples feelings about dragons Thaddeus prefers to stay hidden within his keep. * Race: dragon * Weapon: n/a *

Madalynn

Races of the Broken Moon

elves

History: They say the elves appeared around the time that the moon was broken. They are a very passionate race and see life as black / white. They have been known to be fiercely loyal to their personal causes and are very agile individuals in battle. Elves can control the Weave to an extent. Some are able to put a portion of their soul into objects, though at a terrible cost. Others they say can change their bodies into other forms, but this seems to be regarded as myth. * Race: Elves *

earthdwellers

History: They are dwarves, but are called Earthdwellers (slang) because they at one time had built huge cities under the lands of the Broken Moon. The Earthdwellers of Dark Leaf were forced out of their underground homes and settled many of the towns and villages of the forest. They are incredible at mechanics and machinery. They also have the ability to never seem lost underground or above, always aware of their surroundings. They cannot control the power of the Weave, but the weave flows within them. * Race: Earthdwellers *

Goblins

History: The Goblins are a reptilian humanoid like race. They dwell in the East and Southern Mountains. They have over the centuries invaded Darkleaf and the Dundane Plains. They effectively destroyed the Red Rock Trolls and the elven kingdom of Dark Leaf. They will align themselves with any that unites to their cause of conquest. They are currently being led by elves and men. * Race: Goblins *

Faries

History: Not much is known about the Fae folk that live in the Forest of Dark Leaf. They are hardly seen, but it is rumored that they are powerful weavers. * Race: Fairies *

red rock trolls

History: Fathers of the weave and architects of the underground. It was the Red Rock Trolls that first unlocked the secrets of the weave and taught the other races of the Broken Moon how to use them. They are scholars and creators. Yet they were betrayed by one of their own and their realm destroyed by the Goblins. There are beliefs that, like the ogres, there are a few in hiding. The Red Rock Trolls can control almost all aspects of the weave, especially that of plant control and elementals. They also understand the madness of the weave and so mastered the art of illusion and trickery to make others believe that there is more to weave than what really is. * Race: Red Rock Trolls *

History: The Ogres were a proud race of Dark Leaf Forest. They have strong hides and very sharp tempers. They have a good wit about them and extremely skilled in herb-lore, healings, and battle.
